The Blackwood High School redevelopment was undertaken in two stages, focusing on the refurbishment of the upper level of Building 2 in the Senior School and the construction of a new single-story Creativity Centre in the Middle School section.
The refurbishment of Building 2 aimed to create collaborative, flexible, and experiential learning environments. The project included the integration of interconnected General Learning Areas (GLA) and Specialist Learning Areas (SLA), a spacious central breakout area, and a new entrance to improve connectivity of the building to other parts of the School.
The new Creativity Centre was strategically positioned within the Middle School to optimise the northern orientation and enhance the main thoroughfare of the school. This purpose-built facility offers specialised learning spaces for Dance, Technology, and Art. It accommodates a range of subjects such as digital photography, dance, home economics, and physical education within its adaptable learning areas.
