SMFA, in collaboration with the City of Charles Sturt, have achieved a significant milestone in the redevelopment of the sporting facility at Pedlar Reserve.
The feasibility concepts and design proposals for the Pedlar Reserve redevelopment were approved, securing State Government funding for construction. The newly completed facility meets AFL guidelines and features a spacious function area for community events. This project highlights the dedication of SMFA and the City of Charles Sturt towards enhancing sports infrastructure and fostering community engagement.
Pedlar Reserve holds special importance to the suburb of Seaton, with its original facilities built and expanded over many years through the local community’s efforts, funding, and support. These facilities were in dire need of an uplift. The redevelopment brings together people from diverse backgrounds through sports like soccer, footy, and cricket, as well as social gatherings. The significance of this project is evident in the size of its communal spaces, with approximately 450m², including a function room and covered viewing area, making it one of the largest spaces for patrons. Additionally, the facility boasts one of the largest kitchen, bar, and kiosk areas to cater to its many users.
