SMFA, in collaboration with the City of Charles Sturt, undertook the Model T Ford Clubroom Redevelopment Project. Situated prominently on the Port Road median strip in West Hindmarsh, this project has transformed the clubroom into a versatile and sustainable space.
Designed to meet the diverse needs of the Model T Ford Club, the redevelopment features a flexible function room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a library space linking directly to new open lawned and garden spaces. These facilities cater to various club activities and events, enhancing the overall functionality and appeal of the clubroom.
The project places a strong emphasis on Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) initiatives. Key implementations include under-slab insulation, zero-carbon cladding, solar panels, and a rainwater collection and reuse system. Additionally, high-quality hydraulic fixtures and high-performance glazing have been installed to further support the City of Charles Sturt’s environmental goals.
The Model T Clubroom Redevelopment not only provides a modern and adaptable space for the club but also aligns with the City of Charles Sturt’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. This project stands as a testament to innovative design and sustainable building practices, offering a revitalised community asset that will serve the Model T Ford Club for years to come.
